Disability Support
According to the social model of disability, we are all equal and it is society that prevents people from reaching their full potential. At Kinship Care Plus, we strive to break down these obstacles and provide innovative services to help disabled children and adults attain their full potential.
We help children and adults with Learning Disabilities and other complex care requirements to live at home with their families or in their own houses.
We work with children, adolescents, and adults who have a variety of requirements, such as Learning Disability and Autism, Complex Care, Physical Disability, and Epilepsy.
The following are examples of disability support services:
Outreach and assistance: Getting reliable help and taking a break, even if only for a short time, is essential for anyone providing learning disability care for a child or loved one.
We help people who live in their family home to be more independent and less reliant on their family as carers. This can boost family bonds by taking on the burden of care and assisting the individual in developing their talents. We help people form a network of support outside of their families and participate in activities and events with their peers.
Transition to adult services: We assist both children and adults, and we have experience with young people as they move from childhood to maturity, as well as between children and adult programmes. Staff are trained to assist children and adolescents in areas such as:
Developing abilities in social and domestic environments
Friendships and relationships
Maintaining and developing new support networks
Social networking sites
